June 9, 2007-The Second Charlotte Asian Dragonboat Festival was held at Ramsey Creek Park . Under very bright sunshine, 27 dragons were coming back to the lake Norman, and more than 3,000 spectators attended the one of the most colorful events in Charlotte.

Last year, our CCA dragon boat team won the second place when there were 16 teams in the race. This year, 27 teams are in the race, each team has been well prepared and very competitive. While most of our paddlers in our team were new to the dragon boat sport, our team got two practices prior to the race, and each practice sessions lasted about one hour.	During the race at the festival, 20 paddles and 1 drummer worked hard as a team, riding the dragon from start to finish in a very fast speed. In this event, everybody from our school enjoyed the excitement and had lots of fun.
Needless to say, our team was well organized with good supply of drinks and food.	Although great success has been made, CCA dragon boat team is still in its infancy. The team captain Richard Yang will always welcome more motivated school members to join the team, so we can have a great time together again.
