On behalf of Charlotte Chinese Academy, I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every single one of you for your generous donation towards this cause. Our $15,082.12 wired to Red Cross Society of China on 10/8/08 has ended this successful fund-raising campaign for the May 12th devastating earthquake survivors in China. Your kindness and caring spirit will always stay within their needy hearts.
Here’s some detailed information:
Cash Donation: $28,556.72
Wachovia Match Fund: $12,697.75
Bank of America Match Fund: $3,199.00
Total: $44,453.47
Thanks to Charlotte Preparatory School (CPS – www.charlotteprep.com) along with a full year scholarship provided to two 8th grade students who are from the earthquake impacted region. Your help and kindness has enabled CCA to provide these two students $7000, which paid their round trip air fares and will help pay some daily costs here. We are delighted to be part of CPS “China Earthquake Helping Project”. The students’ names are Xin Wang and Ne Zhou; currently these two students are living with two host families from CPS. We, the Chinese community in Charlotte would like to especially thank Wachovia and Bank of America for their outstanding community service. Both banks contributed directly to the earth quake zone besides the match fund. Together, we can make a difference!
